can a degree in mass communication get you a job as a tv announcer or host?
Posted by: | Commentsi know mass communication involves journalism but is it more for writing` in newspapers and magazines rather working in front of the camera and broadcasting type jobs?
well im not worried so much about luck, i just wanted to know if its the correct degree to get into this field, other than broadcasting…i wanted to make sure it could be used?
You'd probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than of becoming a TV announcer or host.
A degree in mass communication could bring you a step closer, but you still have to be exceptionally telegenic, know the right people, and work your butt off behind the scenes for a few years/decades.

I'm researching, "What are the best counseling strategies for conflict resolution and support of the emotional health of English Language Learner students?" I'm interested in hearing your thoughts, especially if you are a student, teacher, administrator or parent.
In my opinion the best strategies for conflict resolution involve communication and having each party realize what they would think/do if they were the other person. Sort of like if someone did to you what you did to this person how would you feel, what would you say, what would you do, what would you want to do, etc.
In my classroom I try to help the ELL students by speaking with proper English. English is a hard enough language to learn without confusing the issue with local jargon, slang, etc. I also try to demonstrate as much as possible. I teach math, so I make sure I demonstrate every type of problem on the board step by step. I also use colors to see correlations to the different parts of the problems so they can see patterns.

How do different types of relationships influence interpersonal communication?
Posted by: | Comments
Well…say your first meaningful relationship was with a woman who didn't like to share or open up because of her last boyfriend who yelled at her alot. Unless you know her issues you'll assume she's not interested in you and you then carry that to the next relationship. From the moment you start dating it's a domino effect. Whether the first domino tipped is you and someone else or someone else's past issues (baggage) being brought into your new relationship with them. The trick is learning what you like, what you don't like and how to recognize both in someone new. Good luck. This one's going to be something of a "Life Project".
