I don’t know much about Canadian companies, but I know about communication. Just think about a chair, the chair you have in your mind is different from the one I think of.Regarding business you have to take into account the differences in languages, customs, means (and all the things you mentioned). Language because you might find some constrains in French or German while trying to pass the message which was thought in English, the same joke translated will not have the same effect in another language.
Intercultural communication has to be sensitive to customs because what might be acceptable in some countries, in others is offensive. We all produce messages and at the same time we are react on them. Japanese people tend to be cautious before signing a contract, you have to build relationships.
And that’s all about, relationships. You have to use the right means (paper, e-mail, etc) and provide information in the most clear way, while facilitating feedback to complete the communication process.
I ignore this is your homework, but I suggest you to read book in intercultural communication, they’re great!, and if you get the chance, travel around and will get a better idea on how this works.
To be honest, this question is difficult to solve it thorugh here (it hinders the process) Have fun!

Why do guys make the biggest mistake by not breaking up with their girl friends on holidays?
There are several important events that girls really want a guy around for. Christmas Eve and Day, New Year's Eve and Day, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving Day, birthdays, etc. If you've been with a booty call for a while when one of these holidays comes up, then dump her. You'll save yourself the money that would have been spent from buying her a present, and there's a lot of lonely chicks out there who want to be with somebody–anybody. Women want to feel validated on the holidays, so they go out on a hunt to find the sucker to buy her presents. Your appeal will be much higher as a man during these times. Sticking around with a girl during these times plants long-term thoughts in her head. You don't want that for a booty call.
For all of you women out there who are calling me a jerk … I already know I'm a jerk … that's why I get laid all the time.

Why do you care what other men do or don't do. It is in my opinion that maybe what you perceive as a booty call to you may not be to her if she is expecting you to share special days with her. Who ever said we expect gifts on these days, and why are we "needy" to want companionship? Your statement/question makes you sound like a jerk – sorry.
