Virginian-Pilot Business Editor, Bill Choyke, joined Cathy Lewis via phone on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 on 89.5 FM WHRV’s Hearsay with Cathy Lewis, a production of WHRO Public Broadcasting for Hampton ROads. Lauren Rich Fine, Practitioner in Residence at Kent State University’s College of Communication and Information, joined the conversation. Lauren’s background is in equity research of newspapers. They discuss the recently announced sale of Landmark Communications whose major holdings include the Weather Channel and Dominion Enterprises. Local Landmark headquarters in downtown Norfolk also houses the Virginian-Pilot newspaper, the print and online news source in South Hampton Roads, Virginia.

The Hampton Roads Chapter of the American Marketing ociation (HRAMA.org) received kudos on Cathy’s show for the upcoming program with Maurice Jones, VP/GM of the Pilot, on Thursday, January 10th to discuss “Is Newspaper a Dying Medium?”.
